"SPRING IN THE PARK once again offers action galore! The two-week Easter camp at Germany’s highest mountain Zugspitze attracts snowboarders and freeskiers with coaching sessions, parties, photo shootings, material tests and a contest. From the 04th to the 19th of April 2009, snowboarders and freeskiers will get the opportunity to improve their style at the coaching sessions at the Terrain Park Zugspitze, to dance the night away at the parties at Lodge am Hausberg and to win precious non-cash prizes at the Rookie Contest on the 18th of April 2009. Apart from international coaches, Zugspitze local Xaver Hoffmann will be on site as a supervisor at this spring camp sponsored by K2 SNOWBOARDING, K2 SKIS, RIDE SNOWBOARDS and LINE SKIS. Girl’s Week & Parties!
The first SPRING IN THE PARK week is all about the girls: at the coaching with the pro riders of the K2 Women Alliance Team, they will stay among themselves in small groups to encourage the learning effect. Maike Haller (GER), Julia Baumgartner (AUT) and Liz Koch (GER) will take care of the female riders during the girls’ week. For sure though, the boys are also welcome at the park for this first week of SPRING IN THE PARK. At the second week from the 12th to the 19th of April, the snowboarders will be coached by K2 pros Colin Frei (SUI), Sebi Schmitz (GER), Alex Pfeffer (GER), Marcel Dextor (GER) as well as RIDE team riders Manuel Tapal (GER) and Jens Kretschmer (GER). K2 rider Daniel Schiessl (GER) and Chris Fischer (GER) as well as LINE pros Martin Bauer (GER) and Patrick Hollaus (AUT) will take charge of the freeskiers. With the opening party at the Lodge am Hausberg/Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the first party will take place right away on Saturday, the 04th of April 2009. More party highlights are the Mullet & Moustache Rock Party on the 15th of April and the K2 Poker Tournament on the 19th of April 2009. At the weekends and the Easter bank holidays, the K2 camper “Charlie” will additionally provide some après ski fun at the Eibsee train station: apart from music, there will be free hot dogs, soft drinks and several promo activities for all participants of SPRING IN THE PARK – while stocks last! Through both weeks of SPRING IN THE PARK, the participants will also have the occasion to test the newest K2, LINE and RIDE ski and snowboard equipment for free: at the test booth, they will already find the tools of the upcoming 2009/10 season! And during both weeks, a pro photographer will take pictures of the participants. Later, they will have the chance to download the pix of their jumps and rail moves from www.zugspitze.de.
Rookie Contest: win cool equipment!
On Saturday, the 18th of April, the Rookie Contest at the Terrain Park will top off the 4th SPRING IN THE PARK spring camp. At this jam session, the riders can show what they have learnt at the two weeks of SPRING IN THE PARK. The judges will look for the overall impression. The best female and the best male freeskiers and snowboarders will win a set of skis or snowboards each. In addition, all winners will get a private coaching session with a K2 or RIDE pro to learn the tricks of the pros and anything else you need to know if you want to become a pro yourself.
