K2 Riders Head to Winter X Games 2009


Gretchen Bleiler - Superpipe
Returning to defend her Gold medal from last year's X-Games, Gretchen has been busy training for the 2010 Olympics. This is Gretchen's 9th year competing in Winter X. Gretchen has been at the top of her game in halfpipe over the last many years. She has been working on new tricks and solidifying her old ones such as her lofty cripplers. Currently voted to be the one to win this season on EXPN.com

Eero Niemela - Slopestlye
This will be Eero's 4th year competing at Winter X in Mens slopestyle. Although Eero is most well known for his filming parts and amazing style he can throw down like no other in contests such as these. Eero is one of the most stylish riders in X Games and will be dropping it with his usual casual style.
Leanne Pelosi - Slopestyle
Queen of the mustache, (had to watch last years X Games to get the reference) is back again for her 6th year in womens slopestyle. Qualifying for finals last year and having a fall in her run Leanne is looking for redemption in this years Games. Leanne has been out in Quebec filming for her part with Standard Films and will be a veteran presence to be reckoned with at Aspen.
Ross Baker - Superpipe
Young gun Ross Baker is making his first appearance in Aspen for the X Games this season. Ross ended his last season with a 6th place in the US Open and has been consistently killing it in the Dew Tour stops this year. Out of Reno Nevada Ross has been on K2 since just grom status
Robbie Walker - Slopestlye
Transworld These Days star Robbie Walker has been invited for his first Winter X Games this year only two days before the event. Robbie is on the wait list for the event in case some of the other athletes get scared and he needs to step in and show them how consistent he is and how well-rounded his snowboarding is.
